The preservation and promotion of public health in the Russian Federation is one of the conditions for socio-economic development. According to the Strategy for Spatial Development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, the main pain points of the Far East are a significant lag in key socio-economic indicators from the average Russian level for some constitute entities of the Russian Federation, a high level of interregional socio-economic inequality, an insufficient number of economic growth centers to ensure the acceleration of economic growth in the Russian Federation, increasing demographic burden on working-age population, threat of deterioration of the demographic situation due to lower birth rates and reduced migration inflow from neighboring countries. In this regard, the article is devoted to the analysis of life expectancy of the population of the Far Eastern Federal District and the degree of its dependence on socio-economic factors (gross regional product, money income and poverty level, the degree of differentiation and concentration of income) for the period from 1999 to 2021. The study determined the dynamics of indicators of demographic and socio-economic development of the region for a given period of time using the method of dynamic series analysis and assessed the degree of interrelation of these parameters using the correlation analysis methods. The results of the analysis made it possible to identify a pronounced differentiation of indicators of life expectancy and socio-economic conditions in the subjects of the Far Eastern region. We established the correlations between the life expectancy in each subject of the Far Eastern Federal District and the features of socio-economic status, which made it possible to determine the main directions of strengthening public health and demographic development of the region
