Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
Russia’s transition to market economy actualizes the study of labor market conditions combined with institutional changes in the sphere of social and labor relations. The article reviews concepts such as “economic situation” and “economic institution”, presents a list of indicators of labor market reflecting the underlying market parameters (demand, supply, price), and indicators of institutional environment (proportion of registered unemployed in total unemployment in the International Labor Organization (ILO), the share of the employed in the total number of individuals who applied for assistance in employment, the ratio of average unemployment benefit to subsistence minimum, the ratio of minimum wage to subsistence minimum, Kaitz index). The authors conduct cross-country analysis of Russian labor market compared to 19 countries. The sampling includes world economic leaders and countries of the former Soviet Union. Based on data of official international and Russian statistics, the authors analyze tendencies of the Russian labor market over the period 2000–2014, subdivided into time intervals, each characterized by changes in global economic conditions. The authors make conclusions on the strengthening of the model of social and labor relations called “the Russian model labor market” in the expert community. General recommendations are provided for the improvement of the state management of social and labor relations
